What is SAE 430 Stainless Steel?
SAE 430 stainless steel is a non-hardenable stainless steel alloy. It is a ferric grade and has very good corrosion resistance. This resistance can be maximized with surface polishing. It stands up well to organic and nitric acids. SAE 430 is also highly heat resistant up to 815 degrees celsius although it cannot be cooled rapidly as it will become brittle.
430 Stainless Steel Applications
Common applications for 430 stainless steel include automotive trim components, refrigerator cabinet panels, and stove trim rings. E.J. Basler offers precision 430 stainless steel machined parts with superior quality, tolerances, and surface finish.
