SAE 420 stainless steel is a stainless steel alloy containing a minimum 12% chromium. This gives it good corrosion resistance to foods, fresh water, and mild acids when polished or hardened.
This alloy can be hardened through heat treatment. It also has good heat resistance up to 650 C. SAE 420 is commonly used in needle valves, cutlery, and surgical equipment. E.J. Basler offers precision 420 stainless steel machined parts with superior quality, tolerances, and surface finish.
