Advanced Product Quality Planning (or APQP) is a framework of procedures and techniques used to develop products in industry, particularly the automotive sector. It is quite similar to the concept of Design For Six Sigma (DFSS). It is defined as ”System developed by the AIAG automotive organization to communicate common product quality planning and control plan guidelines for suppliers to the automotive industry.”

At E. J. Basler we always perform an APQP processes before manufacturing a new part/project. Often times we will use a customer specific APQP process, however, we also have our own internal APQP process. This process is done in what is known as a “green sheet” meeting, which is held a minimum of twice per week. This meeting is for not only new parts but also improving processes for existing parts. Therefore allowing us to give cost savings to our customers.
